Dr Aini Hamid, PhD (Cantab), PGCHE (Notts), Fellow HEA (UK).
As a molecular and structural biologist, Dr Aini investigated proteins implicated in arrhythmia and heart failure during her appointment at the University of Manchester's Medical School. Previous to that, she worked on proteins associated with neurodegenerative diseases while based at the MRC-Laboratory of Molecular Biology in Cambridge where she also gained her Masters and Doctorate degrees from. Dr Aini currently teaches biology, physiology and pharmacology primarily for cardiovascular diseases and management but does contribute to modules on immunology, allergy, respiratory diseases, reproduction, sexual health and pregnancy. As so, her research includes higher educational tool development but her primary research includes cross-disciplinary projects that will extract and deploy truly innovative, but mature models from across industry sectors to address some of the health challenges specifically in resource deprived settings.
