Associate Professor Dr. Muzaimi Mustapha is a Physician Neuroscientist and Senior Medical Lecturer at the Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Department of Neurosciences, School of Medical Sciences. He has been with USM since Aug 2009 and had co-founded the first of its kind in Southeast Asia, the mixed-mode neuroscience postgraduate programme (the Integrated Neuroscience Programme, INP). He had been on the School’s Research Committee since 2012, and is currently the INP Programme Coordinator, Vice President of the Malaysian Society of Neurosciences (MSN), Chair of the Basic Neuroscience Council MSN and Council member of the Federation of Asian-Oceanian Neuroscience Societies (FAONS) and also an Associate Fellow, Academy of Sciences Malaysia (ASM). He has h-index of 8, and citations over 250 in neuroscience-related fields. His roles as principal investigator for numerous grants come from both international (such as Newton-Ungku Omar & TWAS grants) and national (such as FRGS, ERGS grants). He had received numerous awards such as Brain journal travel award, International Brain Research Organisation (IBRO) Lecturer Exchange Fellowship, Ministry of Higher Education Community-Engagement Award and Top Researcher Award 2017 (USM School of Medical Sciences). His area includes brain rewards circuitry; neurocognition; cerebrovascular; neurodegeneration; and University-Community neuroscience engagement.
